Amendments to Vocational Training Guide
The following revised components were endorsed by the Academy in Oct 2012 which is applicable to anaesthesia trainee who joined on or after 1st January 2013. Please click here for the full version of the vocational training guide.
- 1.6.1 Non-anaesthetic clinical experience 3 months
- 1.6.3 Intensive / Critical Care Medicine 6 months
Recruitment of QA Committee
The HKCA is planning to set up a QA Committee. Should you have interests in joining the committee, please feel free to email to the College at office@hkca.edu.hk.
ECHO Committee
The ECHO Committee of the HKCA would like to collect the fellows’ and members’ attitude to ECHO learning and training, thus we would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to compete the survey here.
In order to share the knowledge and experiences of ECHO among our community, two ECHO Workshops will be organized on 16 November 2013 during ASM 2013. For details, please refer to the official announcement of the ASM 2013 in due course.
Besides, with sponsor granted by HKCA, a Clinical Attachment Programme at Ruttonjee Hospital (RH) will be conducted in the coming months. HKCA has also reserved places for our members and fellows, with registration fee partly subsidized by HKCA, at ECHO Hong Kong 2013 which will be held on 21-24 November 2013. The details will be announced soon.

Administrative Instructions for Submission of Vocational Training Forms and In-training Assessments
The HKCA Council has endorsed the below administrative instructions for submission of vocational training forms and the In-training assessments. The effective date is 1 July 2013 but with a two-month grace period.

The 25th Anniversary Scientific Meeting, Dept of Anaesthesiology, HKU (1 June 2013)
The Dept of Anaesthesiology of The University of Hong Kong is going to organize The 25th Anniversary and The 2nd Scientific Meeting of Laboratory and Clinical Research Institute for Pain on Saturday 1 June 2013 at Lecture Theatre 4, William MW Mong Block, 21 Sassoon Road, Pokfulam. ASM in Anaesthesiology of Guangdong Medical Association - Call for abstracts
Guangdong Medical Association is going to organize the Annual Scientific Meeting in Anaesthesiology in August 2013 in Guangzhou. The details of abstract submission can be found here.
Fellowship Examination in Pain Medicine Workshop
The Fellowship Examination in Pain Medicine Workshop was successfully held on 20 April 2013. Thank Dr Beverly Collett, Dr Steven Wong and Dr MC Chu for their contribution and thank participants for their participation.
